Ashley Gonzalez is a tap dance performer, choreographer, and instructor based in Minnesota. She trained under the direction of Chloe Arnold, Sarah Reich, Aaron Williams, and other notable tap artists. Ashley graduated from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul with a double major in music with a vocal emphasis and business administration.
As the director of Keane Sense of Rhythm Youth Ensemble, Ashley is invested in building the local tap community by cultivating a space where dancers can learn, perform, and create. She has produced a handful of shows for this program. She is also the founder of Radiant Rhythm Initiative and has produced Swingin’ into Summer Tap Festival to bring dancers together to learn, grow, and be inspired.
Ashley currently performs and tours as a tap dance company member of Rhythm Street Movement with original shows such as ‘Who Brought the Humbug’ and ‘Storyboard.’ She also performs with musical groups primarily based in the Twin Cities: Dawson Redenius Septet, Travis Anderson Trio, etc. Some of her other past performances include the Governor’s Ball Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, the MLBA All Star Pre Party Concert in Washington DC, and she has also received awards in competitions for her tap performances in Seoul, South Korea and Offenburg, Germany. Ashley was featured in the book Dance Across the USA by Jonathon Givens.
